height:auto;\">\n\t\t\n<style>\n#gap-231216833 {\n  padding-top: 30px;\n}\n<\/style>\n\t<\/div>\n\t\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Core Requirements of CS3D<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Companies within the scope of CS3D must establish <strong>a robust due diligence system<\/strong>, including:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Integration into governance and policies<br \/><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Issuing policies on human rights and the environment;<\/li>\n<li>Assigning oversight responsibilities to the Board of Directors and\/or executive management;<\/li>\n<li>Embedding sustainability criteria into procurement and supplier selection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Risk identification and prioritization<br \/><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Mapping business operations and supply chains;\n<\/li>\n<li>Identifying risks related to labor, communities, and the environment;<\/li>\n<li>Prioritizing action based on severity and likelihood.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Prevention, mitigation, and remediation<br \/><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Adjusting contracts and supplier selection criteria;<\/li>\n<li>Requiring and supporting suppliers to improve practices;<\/li>\n<li>Establishing clear escalation pathways if partners fail to remediate (from warnings to termination of business relationships).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Grievance and stakeholder engagement mechanisms<br \/><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Establishing grievance channels for workers, communities, and civil society organizations;<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring confidentiality and protection against retaliation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Monitoring and reporting<br \/><\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Tracking effectiveness and updating regularly;<\/li>\n<li>Public disclosure aligned with other EU sustainability reporting requirements (such as CSRD).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Sanctions<\/strong>: Each EU Member State will designate a supervisory authority and may impose fines of up to <strong>5% of global turnover,<\/strong> along with public \u201cnaming and shaming\u201d and civil liability mechanisms for affected victims..<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> How Is CS3D Being Implemented?<br \/><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Following its publication in the Official Journal on 05\/07\/2024 and entry into force on 25\/07\/2024, key next steps include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>April 2025:<\/strong> Adoption of Directive <strong>(EU) 2025\/794<\/strong>, adjusting and postponing certain application deadlines (\u201cstop-the-clock\u201d) to give companies more preparation time;<\/li>\n<li>By 26\/07\/2027: EU Member States must complete the transposition of CS3D into national law;<\/li>\n<li><strong>2027\u20132029<\/strong>: <strong>Phased application <\/strong>of CS3D to expanding groups of companies based on revenue and workforce size, starting with the largest corporate groups;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In parallel, the European Commission will issue guidance, FAQs, and \u201cadministrative burden reduction\u201d packages. However, the core requirement\u2014<strong>mandatory human rights and environmental due diligence across the value chain<\/strong>\u2014<strong>remains unchanged.<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"row\"  id=\"row-686747624\">\n\n\t<div id=\"col-1251057096\" class=\"col medium-6 small-12 large-6\"  >\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"col-inner\"  >\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>Impacts on Vietnamese Business Community<br \/><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Indirect impacts through supply chains (the most immediate effect)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>EU customers in sectors such as textiles and garments, footwear, electronics, agriculture and fisheries, timber, and logistics are likely to:\n<ul>\n<li>Require Vietnamese suppliers to demonstrate compliance with labor and environmental standards;<\/li>\n<li>Insert ESG clauses and indicators on occupational safety, working hours, wages, and emissions into contracts;<\/li>\n<li>Request traceability data, audit results, and sustainability certifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Vietnamese enterprises that <strong>fail to meet these requirements<\/strong> risk being removed from supplier lists and losing opportunities to sign new contracts or renew existing ones with EU clients during 2027\u20132030, when EU companies face the strongest CS3D compliance start=\"5\">\n<li><strong>What Should Vietnamese Enterprises Do Now?<br \/><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Whether SMEs or large corporations, enterprises can start with five key actions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Raise awareness at the leadership level (2025\u20132026);<\/li>\n<li>Map supply chains and risks (within the first 3\u20136 months);<\/li>\n<li>Develop due diligence policies and procedures (to be completed before EU customers significantly tighten requirements from 2027);<\/li>\n<li>Establish grievance mechanisms for workers and stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Align with ESG
