Context

Better Work has operated in Viet Nam since 2009, supporting garment and footwear factories to strengthen compliance with labour standards and enhance their competitiveness in global supply chains. As Better Work enters the next phase in Viet Nam, it will gradually phase out direct factory engagement, and qualified service providers will be selected to deliver services directly to factories instead.

To minimize disruption to production orders and partnership between factories and brands, the service model, tools, and IT system will remain unchanged, and continue to be applied by the service providers. The transition from BWV to the Service provider has been carefully developed in consultation with participating brands and other stakeholders to help ensure continuity for participating factories.

About the Service Provider

Responsible Business Practices Company Limited (RBV) is an independent Vietnamese social enterprise registered under Vietnamese law. RBV supports businesses in labour compliance, ESG, and supply chain due diligence.

The company is based in Hanoi, with business location in Ho Chi Minh City. For more information, please go to: https://rbv.com.vn

RBV has met qualifying criteria on legal and institutional capacity, technical competence, integrity and ethical standards, and quality assurance systems, and has been selected by Better Work to deliver factory services.

At the moment, only RBV has been qualified to deliver core services for factories. In the future, Better Work may work with other service providers in Vietnam to provide more options for factories to choose.

Better Work is a voluntary programme, and therefore, it is not mandatory for factories to work with RBV. With the vision and mission of RBV, and the values it brings to factories beyond the auditing scheme, we encourage factories to join. Please contact your brands for their recommendation.

Factories should contact our Registration team (registration@rbv.com.vn) directly for guidance on registering for their next cycle.

Details on the Registration process can be found here.

Factories currently in mid-cycle do not need to take any immediate action. RBV will contact each factory before the start of its next cycle with registration instructions.

Factories beginning a new cycle from 1 September 2026 will register directly with RBV.

Yes. Factories that have not previously participated in the Better Work programme can contact RBV Registration team directly at registration@rbv.com.vn for guidance on eligibility and the registration process.

Details on the Registration process can be found here.

RBV will assign an experienced and highly qualified Enterprise Advisor to work with your factory at the start of the new cycle. The handover process has been carefully prepared to minimize any impact on your operations. If your business is assigned a new advisor, we will ensure a full handover with the Better Work program advisor so that your collaboration with brands continues smoothly and without disruption.

Service model

No. Factory will have the same service package, including assessment, advisory and training.

Factories already participating in the Better Work programme will proceed seamlessly into their next cycle with RBV.

Assessment reports and progress reports delivered by RBV follow Better Work’s methodology, tools, and standards. As a result, these reports will continue to be accepted by participating brands. Please contact your brands for their confirmation.

No. RBV delivers services following Better Work Viet Nam’s service model. The timelines for assessments, advisory services, and progress reports will remain the same as in previous service cycles.

Yes. RBV implements Better Work Viet Nam’s High-Performance Factory (HPF) requirements as part of programme delivery. HPFs will continue to be recognized in Better Work’s systems. Factories working towards HPF status will continue to follow the same recognition process and criteria.

IT Platform

Factories and brands will continue to use Better Work’s systems to access and share assessment and advisory reports. All accounts and data from previous cycles will be retained in Better Work’s systems.

RBV will deliver services to factories using Better Work’s IT platform (ASTRA – Factory module). Factories will continue to carry out activities in Better Work’s systems.

Data sharing through the SLCP Gateway will remain unchanged. Factories only need to register once for data sharing through the SLCP Gateway before the start of the cycle in which they wish to share data. To stop sharing data through the SLCP Gateway, factories must submit a request before the start of the following cycle.

For other exceptional cases, factories should contact RBV for further guidance.

Service fees and Administration issues

During its initial phase of operation, RBV will maintain the current fee structure used by Better Work Viet Nam, including discounted fees for small factories (with fewer than 500 workers), to ensure continuity and access to services for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Factories should contact RBV for detailed information on the fees applicable to the next cycle
